I Miss The Old TV Shows...
Where did they all go? I'm sure you remember them,
don't you? I do and I surely miss them today. Whatever
happened to those clean, funny and interesting TV shows
we used to watch when we were growing up.

For instance ------------------

Man from U.N.C.L.E., Perry Mason, Adam-12, My
Little Margie, Topper, Tarzan, Wagon Train, Rawhide,

Lawrence Welk, Laverne & Shirley, Happy Days, The
Real McCoys, The Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched, The 64
Million Dollar Question and Gilligans Island.....to name a
few.

Has Hollywood ran out of ideas or maybe they have just
gone down the path of immorality and greed and can't
turn back. Why do they think we won't TV shows with
so much vulgarity, sex and bad language? Why can't
they produce shows like the ones mentioned above? Most
of these shows were clean enough that the whole family
could watch them without worrying about the content.
You didn't have to worry about the family hour. TV
could be watched anytime without sending your children
out of the room.

I guess the reason that TV has gotten so bad is that it
has been gradually changed over the years - slowly but
surely and the people have come to accept the shows
that are shown without protest. It is sad to see. It
would be so refreshing to see some new shows without
cursing, without all the sexuality, without the references
to gay lifestyles as if it is a normal way of life, and
without all the violence.

You can just call me an old fogey living in the past - but
it would be nice to see some new TV shows that could
come close to what was produced during the 50s and
60s. I know some of the shows mentioned above come
on the tube today in syndication but it would be great to
have someone produce more shows like those.

How about all those game shows we used to watch.

Like . .

Beat The Clock, To Tell The Truth, Concentration, The
Price Is Right, Password, What's My Line?, Hollywood
Squares, Joker's Wild, Wheel Of Fortune, Lets Make A
Deal, Press Your Luck, Match Game, I've Got A Secret,
and Queen For A Day.

Those game shows of yesterday have faded away and
now remain in our memories only. They were great fun
for the entire family to watch. We've had some good
game shows in the past but it seems the thing these
days are the Reality Shows - if you can call them that.
I don't watch many of them - because in fact they are
not reality but shows staged with cameras rolling. Plus,
do you really want to watch a show where the
contestants eat roaches, worms, and anything goes? Not
me - I'll be watching old shows on TV Land instead. At
least I can get a little glimpse of the good old days
from these shows.

Well, I'll wrap it up for now. I guess I have blown off
enough steam in this story but I am sure I am not the
only one in this old US of A that feels this way. If you
have an opinion or want to express your feelings, pass
them along. My email address is all over this website.
