History on the Eastern
Seaboard Band
provided by Phil Leviner
Hey... I remember the Eastern Seaboard band very
well.  Jimmy Jackson was the base player (better
known as JJ), David Boyette played lead, Donnie
Hogan played rhythm, Richard Goodwin was on
drums (known as Ringo), Mark Hewett sang and
played trumpet and also drums when we needed him
to.  Vernon Dick sang lead, Mike Mc. played
saxaphone.  Later we replaced David with Joey Miller
from Roxboro.  JJ was replaced by Carl Steadman.
Jimbo Maples sang with us for awhile.  Our sax player
quit.  Joey left the band and was replaced by Charlie
Atwell from Charlotte.  After playing keyboards from
1972 until 1976 I (Phil Leviner) decided to give it up.
Ricky Singletary replaced me.  After keeping the band
together for a couple of years, the band dissolved.
Now he is with a well know band called the Dixie
Ambush.  Yeah, our days at the Hanger on Airport
Road, and moving on to Myrtle Beach at the Magic
Attic were some of the good old days. JJ started a
website so anyone that may like to visit can log on to
www.easternseaboardband.com. (Check out this
website - you'll love the old photos of the group.RR
