Coincidence or Destiny #1 - My Grandpa

When I was a child, my family would often go to my Grandpa Bailey's house for a
visit.  I loved to go there because he had a pond on the hill in front of his house
and we would spend a lot of time fishing there. He lived off of Rockingham Road,
on McArthur Drive. Grandpa had an old black T model Ford but it seemed he never
drove it much because I always remember it being parked in his garage.
Grandpa Baileys' youngest son, Donnie, lived there and he, me,and my three
brothers would play and fish. The Stewarts, including Larry, Jerry, and Ted,  and
the Thompsons, Jackie and Mitzi, plus some of the other Baileys lived on down
around the end of McArthur Dr .
But what I didn't know at the time was that my future wife, Sandra Watson,
lived around the next corner. As you turn off of Rham Rd into Glenwood, she lived
close to the end of the street on the right. Judy Yates also lived down that street.
My wife  and her family remember Grandpa Bailey and often her parents would
take the family down to visit.
Of course, I don't remember any visits they made to Grandpas but I am sure we
probably had the occasion to see each other at some time.
Little did I know at the time that when I reached the age of 16, I would meet this
girl in high school and end up marrying here.

Coincidence or Destiny #2 - My Wife's Grandpa

I don't know how many times my family would go to Hoffman to picnic and swim
in Indian Lake. A lot of times our church Sunday School classes would go there
also.
It was a popular place to swim and play for all the kids. The parents would bring
plenty of food and games for us to enjoy. One thing I do remember is that we
never went past Indian Lake. There was a dirt road (which is still dirt) that came
off of #1 to take you down to the lake. The road ran on past Indian Lake but we
never went there.
Well, when my wife was young, she too would go to swim in that lake. But of
course, I never met her until years later. What is so weird is that her Grandpa
Watson lived at the end of that dirt road. Her parents would often go to visit him
and they all would go swimming in Indian Lake. And now, that dirt road is named
after her Grandpa, James G Watson.

So, you decide......were these just coincidences or destiny!
