When we were growing up the old address was:
23 5th Avenue - Aleo
East Rockingham, N.C. 28379

I was 5 years old when we moved into this house in front of Aleo Mill.
They had just moved the houses across the street to Airport Road in
front of Pine Grove Baptist Church, so they could make a parking lot
for the mill. The Mill sold the houses on the hill, and most Familys
purchased them and started remodeling.  At that time in History The
Mill Village was a Good place to live. I could go up and down every
street and name everyone in every home on Aleo & New Hill. New Hill is
the part of Aleo across The R.R. Tracks and beside the mill. Some of
the Best People in the world came from East Rockingham and some are
still out there. We were poor  and did not have a lot, but everyone was
in the same shape. Neighbors were Neighbors and looked out for each
other. We never locked the house or car when we got one. Kids would
play until time to get a bath and ready for bed, we did not have a T.V.
My Mama, Daddy, Grandma, & 4 Brothers lived in this 4 room house.
My Parents are Mary & Bill Dennis, Sr. Grandmother Carrie Grice Guinn
and Brothers Wayne, Ronnie, Keith & Dean. I would not trade my
memories of growing up on a mill village and the people I had the
pleasure to know for anything.
