| Phillip Bledsoe, left, member of The Blue Knights motorcycle club, accepts a $500.00 check from the East Rockingham Men's Club Public Relations Chairman Bill Dennis. The E.R. Men's Club gave the money to help sponsor a charity ride and concert Saturday August 25, 2007 at the Cole Auditorium in Hamlet. All proceeds will go to the family of Hope Mills police officer Sgt. James Heath Hardin age 35, who died of heart failure chasing a suspect. Because Sgt. Harden died and was not killed in the line of duty, his family was denied the usual compensation for an officer killed. He is survived by his wife Shelly, a nine year old son Mason and a thirteen year old daughter Samantha. 070907 |
