| 1940s U.S. O. Club Rockingham, NC Postcard |

| Jeff Todd sent me a copy of the first photo and advised he had found it on Ebay while surfing. After doing a little research, I found that it had been sold to Rex Craig from California. After emailing Rex, he graciously scanned the postcard, front and back, and said I could use it on this website. I assume this was taken sometime during the '40s account of the cars and I believe the USO started in the '40s. If anyone out there in cyberspace could identify any of the people in this photo, please feel free to pass it along. jb 071707. 071707 - Bill Dennis suggests this might be the old Rockingham Library...it does look like it.jb. 071707 - The following confirmation was received from Bill Dennis, confirming it was the old Rockingham Library: Joel, I talked to John Green, George Crump, Jr., amd Glenn White today and all three said the U S O Club was at the Old Rockingham Library. George said he remembered the square dances they had every week there, and the U S O did a good job. Bill |
