First, u r not related to Dr. Keith Beck (from MD), a former nuclear
scientist are u?  He's deceased now.

Anyhow...I have something that might be of interest. I was recently
going through my things and came across what I'm sure is the first rock
festival that I attended.

And it was in 1972 (it could've been 1971 for all I know.)

I say this cause I served in the Army at Ft. Bragg, NC from 1970-73
but I didn't get to Fayetteville until approx. July of that year; I
suspect that I was too new to go off post and locate the festival. And I
left in Feb. of 1973 so that leaves only those two dates.

However, I had always thought that it was a Fayetteville, NC only
festival -- now it seems that I am wrong.

Here's the description of my light blue concert t-shirt: It has a picture
of a big peach with a small tree growing out of the top ; behind it is a
rainbow.  In front it says, Peach 2 Tree.  Under that it says in small
letters, "Jaycee Fairgrounds, Fayetteville, Aug.18 (but no year!)

Don't hold me to it, but I "think" that Santana was one of the artists
that year. It was an outdoor concert. I want to say that Foghat also
showed up -- but then I might be confusing them with indoor concerts
that I saw in Fayetteville (though I'm almost certain Santana I saw
outside.)

Hope this helps: what all can YOU tell me about my first rock concert:
Peach Tree.  I'm sure that it's the same festival, right?

Yes, you may post my email. Please add my e/ddress as well:
hkhodges13@aol.com .

After I googled "Peacetree" I was first led to the email posting u had
from a Dr. Beck.  I later realized that it wasn't his site -- rather a
posting of Rockingham memories; thus my inquiry if he was related to
another Dr. Beck.

Anyway...looks like u have an interesting town.
