Subject: take me back to the fifties.......
I grew up in Honeytown and went to Rockingham High, Class of 1958.
Joined the Air Force in November of 1958 then was assigned to Offutt
AFB in Omaha, Ne. When I got out in October of 1962 I worked
several jobs before taking a career position with the Veterans
Administration in 1967 where I worked until retirement in 1995. I
started the country western band High Country in 1978 and we are still
going strong.
I presently live in Omaha, Nebraska but make return trips to North
Carolina at least every other year. I still have family in Rockingham and
Hamlet. Your regular contributor J. Wilson Hayes is married to my
cousin Lolita. I don't write a lot but have been using your website and
its' link to the Journal to keep abreast of what's happening back home.
