September 24, 2005 - A Tribute to Tom & Sarah's Restaurant in Rockingham, NC hosted by Bonnie Webb Campbell
Remember This? - Many times we would pull up to one of the ordering booths and place our orders: Tom Dog, Square Cheese Dog, Tanker, NeHi Burger, or one of the many other sandwiches Tom offered. These memories will last forever.
Bonnie Webb Campbell, the host, on the right and Debbie Price on the left. They were in the process of preparing some of the food for the occasion.
Don Price, husband to Debbie in the first photo, and former employee of CSX RR, cooking up the french fries. I hadn't seen Don since I was transferred to Jax in 1988. That was a big pot Don!
From the left, Sandra Allen Elliott,Marion Craddock - I hadn't seen Marion since about 1988. He was and still is an employee of CSX RR, where I used to work. Next, Sandy Smith and Beverly Dyson Durden.
Becky Kerr Sanders and the gentleman to the right is unknown at this time. The photo below is Ricky Weatherly and I presume his wife.
This is Paul Warnock on the left and me on the right. Paul has and is still contributing many great true stories of his memories of growing up in Rockingham in the early 50s. He traveled all the way from Greensboro to join in the festivities.
In here is where the serious cooking was going on. Preparing the Square Dogs, Tankers, etc. was the main focus. The guy on the back left is Don Price with his back turned. Next is Hunter Smith and Kristen Wilkerson (the two "car hops"), Robert Mabe, Bobby McLean & David Allen in the wheelchair.
Back left are Ricky Weatherly & his wife, Liz Pierce (holding the pole up), Bill McQuage seated in white shirt, Glenda Snead McQuage, Charles Carter & Monica Carter.
In the top photo, my wife Sandra Bailey on the front left, then the wife of Bobby Oliver and he is next and then Sandra Allen Elliott. In the photo below, Sandra Bailey setting across from Paul Warnock at our table, then Charles Tarlton seated and James Pressley in the white shirt, the last car hop at Tom & Sarah's.
My wife Sandra in the background, then Tony Braddock and his wife Penny Bullard Braddock at the table with the black table cloth. The other lady is not identified.
From the left, Kenny Phillips, John Nichols, Steve Kelley, and Robert Mabe.
Paul Warnock and me in deep discussion about something. Probably the weather - it was hot that day!
