Subject: Peachtree Photos
Thanks so much for sending me those photos from the Peachtree Festival.
(Fred is referring to this link: 031206TwigGravely). I believe our large
contingent of Ansonians was a little bit closer to the stage and to the right
of where Twigs was taking his photos. I think I might know a couple of the
folks I see, but to protect their innocence, I won't identify them!
Your site does a great job of recognizing and stimulating our nostalgia for
the past. I grew up in Wadesboro and often reflect on the joys on growing
up in a small town in the South during that era. I'm sure my recollections
would have been just as fond had I grown up in Rockingham instead. I
remember the old Wadesboro High and Rockingham football games and recall
"sneaking in" under the fence to witness some of these classic events. But
of course, Wadesboro never could top their rivals to the East.
