Hi guys and gals. Wayne Brooks here from good ole Omaha, Nebraska.
I have enjoyed reading all the items on this great website. A lot of
good memories are being stirred up. Especially for Joe Pruitt - I grew
up in Honeytown and played a lot of baseball and football with Milton and
cousin Lanny. You were there, too. Football had just enough space
between the McCaskill and Wallace houses.
It was sad to hear not too long ago about the passing of my best friend
Jimmy Jordan.
Lanny, Sandra and I used to play an old game making up titles for
imaginary movies. And of course we all remember Mr. Bill Brown and his
mule. My grandfather Charlie Rogers helped found the New Hope
Baptist church. My mom played the piano there.
A lot of water has come and gone below the bridge and it's interesting
to see where our lives took us.
I will try to submit more later. I've always hoped someone would start
a drive to restore the old Great Falls damn so the big Rockingham lake
where I used to fish as a youngster could be restored. People don't
realize just what they lost there.
